“Papa Joe” Byrd, has spent more than thirty years in special education and vocational classrooms. He has also run programs focused on keeping at risk children in school. Joe’s educational and clinical experiences combined with twenty years as a full time home builder and twenty years as a part time contractor, give Joe a platform of experiences to mentor our kiddos and young adults towards agency and independence.
Papa Joe holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature, a Masters of Education in School Leadership and a Specialist of Education in Trade and Industrial Education. All from Georgia State University.
Joe raised two fantastic daughters who are now adults. In Joes free time he travels, has Braves season tickets and is an aspiring Elvis impersonator.
