Our week-long diving experience caters to our older kiddos and young adults (14+ years of age). This unique expedition is truly a Sensory Seekers delight! Campers and staff will live at ScubaDive65, our dive and instruction site. This professional dive quarry is located in the peace and beauty of Tennessee.
Each camper will have their own individual Dive Master provided by our partner, Ohana Dive Company. These dive professionals remain with their students from start to finish during the water portions of this trip. No previous dive experience is required or expected. In addition to the dive masters, our usual, professional Aerie staff will also be in attendance to provide support and foster fun and growth.
Spend a week taking in new sensory experiences in and out of the water! Feel the calm quiet and pressure of the water, the excitement and beauty of exploring a different world, and the joy of sharing the experience with other like-minded participants. A special benefit of this expedition trip is the inclusion of Aerie’s portable tree house and playground. The Aerie experience also includes all the fun of soap and candle making, leather-working, paddling on the water, playing, telling bad jokes and growing in a magical world specially catered to our Aerie kiddos and young adults that you will always find in an Aerie experience!
This trip offers multiple opportunities for learning and practicing self-regulation through sensory input. All our participants will have the opportunity to make and maintain friendships and relationships in a loving, nurturing, caring environment of learning and enrichment.
Students who choose to complete the Scuba certification will have the opportunity to meet PADI requirements. We will provide all necessary instruction. By the end of the expedition, students will have had the opportunity to complete all requirements and can become certified Open Water Scuba Divers.
Accommodations: Indoor toilets and showers, professional kitchen, dining hall, hammock and tent camping.
