My name is Marcus Rich. I am 25 years old and currently live in Clarkrange, TN. I have been married for 3.5 years and have a 6 month old daughter, Makayla. I grew up in Louisville, KY where I spent most of my time reading and volunteering at the Louisville Zoo. This is where my love of animals started. I was able to work with the smaller education animals as well as some of the larger cats. When I was 18 I moved to Clarkrange, TN to work on a horse ranch. Here I started learning about all the different ways in which horses can be used. I originally believed they were just for work or riding, but as time went on, I learned they can also be used for emotional and physical therapy. Mike Archambault is the owner of New Beginnings Youth Ranch and while working on his ranch, I was assisting with the youth that were attending. I was like a big brother to a lot of them. I helped them with working on the farm, getting their GED and managing how to live on their own.
In December of 2012 I married my wife, Sarah, and we moved to Chattanooga. While there, I was able to work as a Vet Technician. Here I found a new love for animals and the care of them. While working there I was able to learn hands on through surgeries and administering medicine. During this time, it had always been my dream to own my own zoo. In February of 2014 that dream became a reality. We moved back to Clarkrange, and with the help and permission from Mike Archambault, we were able to open The Zoo of Dreams, a small petting and exotic zoo. It was a learning experience about me, my wife, and most of all how hard I worked to make that dream become reality. I was able to open the zoo in June of that same year. During this time is when I became acquainted with Matthew Weneta and everything about Aerie Experiences.
